Let’s start out with some good news for a change. Those who took the time to respond to my call for help with regards to Lt. Col. Allen West….. YOU DID IT!!! Instead of an Article 32 where an excellent career would have been trashed, the Military Brass decided an Article 15 was more in order and the punishment ended up being a $5000 fine. In my opinion I still think even that was too harsh but it is better than an Article 32. The Lt. Col. Is back home now, on his way to retirement. One of the biggest things that concern me about all of this is, he was interrogating a suspect in a war. There was no torture involved just a little persuasion. How can the politicians in DC tie those who are in the fields hands? They have no clue what’s going on out there. Congratulations and thank you to all who took the time to do the right thing and made a difference.

PA Update, HB 706 as it is written authorizes State wide Emissions testing. Motorcycles and diesels are specifically included in this Bill. Penn Dot even succumbs to the EPA and will submit their proposal for approval. While the Bill is dated March of 03 it could just creep up somewhere if opposition is not voiced. Just read the 10th Amendment and get busy making sure this SOB NEVER sees the light of day.

Many times our largest opposition is the medical profession. How can those who practice medicine, (which means they haven’t perfected it yet if their still practicing) tell US what to do? Well there is a new PA Bill The Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act already approved by the PA House. This bill could be derailed by …….. you guessed it, the Feds. Is the medical lobby trying to cover their ass so there is no public record of their mistakes? No big surprise here, they know what’s best for Bikers yet more people die each year from Medical Malfeasance than on motorcycles. The medical profession needs to deal with it’s own problems and let Bikers deal with ours. If you’ve never seen the pamphlet “Dirty Hands Dirty Lies” it’s on the site. More on HIPAA, some dumb ass Insurance Agent (from Allstate) was at work hocking some different coverage’s, mostly life and disability. When I inquired about the loophole in HIPAA and explained to him I wouldn’t buy something that may not cover me if I was hurt on the Bike. Well this genius who claimed to know nothing about the loophole, was going to inquire with the Company and get back to me the next day……..well that never happened. So I did inform others and he lost a few sales over not disclosing the facts. Let the buyer beware on insurance, they can sell you anything yet still deny the claim if your hurt in a “risky activity”. Where in these policy’s do they define what is a “risky activity”? I also posted a letter I received from Rick Santorum http://www.solriders.com/pdf/santorum.pdf that was supposed to assure me this problem doesn’t exist according to the Department of Health and Human Services. I am looking for actual cases where benefits have been denied due to a “risky recreational activity”. This doesn’t apply to only Bikers, so if anyone knows of anyone have them contact me. I would like evidence to straighten this Civil Servant out.

What do you think of your insurance company using your money to lobby against your Liberties? Well they are. The Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety were recently distributing propaganda in DC opposing the Meaningful Agenda for Motorcycle Safety. This group supported the 1990s provision that withheld highway funds from states without mandatory-use helmet laws and is currently VERY active lobbying for mandated motorcycle helmet laws and slamming everything from rider education to “Kill a Biker, Go to Jail” legislation. The Sons of Liberty Riders through exhaustive research has uncovered just “who” the “Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety” (AHAS) really are…they are medical professionals, trade groups and INSURANCE COMPANIES!!! The Sons of Liberty Riders urges ALL bikers that have ANY insurance with ANY of the following insurance companies to drop your coverage and purchase it from a different company. We also encourage you to explain WHY you are dropping this company to your insurance agent.
We are also asking for a full boycott of the insurance companies listed below. If you are searching for an insurance company – DO NOT use any of these! If you are in a “Group Plan” with one of these companies through work, let your Plan Administrator know you are dissatisfied and request the company change underwriters. Tell all your co-workers. Some of these companies also handle financial investments and mutual funds…if you’re with one of these companies, you should also change who handles your money! Spread the word of this to not only every biker, but to your friends, family and anyone who will listen.

I’m sure many of you are asking, “Why should I drop my insurance company?” Let me make this simple: these safety-nazi’s are taking YOUR insurance premium payments and USING THAT MONEY to lobby for mandatory helmets and against Motorcycle Rights initiatives in both Washington D.C. and in your Statehouse. If enough motorcyclists, families and friends of motorcyclists pull their money away from these companies, they might get the hint. At least we as motorcyclists should NOT be funding the enemies battle plan. There is also a Handout on the Site for this.
