Anyone who let Mother Nature keep you away from the Cycle Source Awards Banquet, you missed one hell of a time. Great people and food, and the guys who got up and jammed together were awesome. When this crew gets together you can be assured of nothing less than a good time to ensue. I for one am damn glad to be apart of it.

To those following TEA 21 and the Murkowski Amendment (and you all should…..it’s your money). I have some updated info. At the December 10th meeting in DC with Senate Staffers, the MRF, several leaders from SMRO’s and the Motorcycle Safety Foundation President Tim Buche were in attendance. Before the start of the meeting all parties were in agreement as to what was going to be presented, but low and behold Buche and the MSF jumped ship and did a turncoat and tried to kill the bill. What they previously supported now they did not…….AMBUSH!!! Following this the MRF and SMRO Leaders applied pressure and the MSF did another about face and now claim to support the Murkowski Amendment, but damage has been done. SoLR’s position on TEA 21 has not changed, the Bill no matter how you look at it rapes and violates the Constitution. The Murkowski Amendment does have positive ideology and things that need looked into further. The Amendment includes many proactive provisions towards the future of Motorcycle Safety. Buche on the other hand needs to go and Bikers need to make this happen. One of SoLR’s own, Doc Z from Iowa takes another in the 5 Steps to Freedom. He is running for the Iowa House of Representatives. This is a bold step to get one of our own in a position of power in government. This is just another step in getting things back on track in this country and we’re damn glad Doc Z took it.
