TEA 21 is still in the news. TEA 21 is about to head to a conference committee in an attempt to iron out differences and most likely add pork to it. By the time TEA 21 passes it will probably not look anything like the original bill, and passage is still months away at best. With everyone and their brother lobbying for something they want all the special interests will be after their fair share of the pork. Those who truly believe the Constitution is still valid should be lobbying for the death of TEA 21. Yes, I seem to beat the same dead horse every month, BUT this is a plank in the Communist Manifesto
redistribution of the wealth. At some point in life the people of this country MUST take a stand and say enough is enough.
The high and mighty board of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) funded by all the major motor companies has recently thumbed its nose at the MRF. The MRF approached the board of the MSF about getting an advisory seat on the MSF board, and the MSF flatly refused stating it was against their bylaws. Undoubtedly the MSF runs a fine program, but it represents the manufacturers interests in the end. The motor companies want to sell bikes and the MSF makes it appear safer. If they were really so concerned about safety, they would want unilateral involvement in what actually does make motorcycling safer. The MSF runs the whole show here in PA, and while theres no direct cost to those taking the course it is funded by bikers for bikers. If the MSF was so concerned about safety they would be involved in ROW legislation and Share the Road programs. This is not a slam on the instructors either, they are good at what they do and are truly concerned bikers. The motor companies that comprise the BOD at the MSF are so out of touch with reality and will bow down to no one. While on the subject of Share the Road, Mon Valley and ABATE of PA recently put up some sharp looking billboards that will be attention getters. Anything proactive to keep us on the minds of cagers and save lives is great and these guys designed one hell of a nice billboard. Riding down to Myrtle I noticed WV had put up some nice billboards also and NC had share the road signs. Many states are just starting to get involved in this but before long I think we will see it as a reality everywhere. All this will help but unfortunately there will always be people like a fine South Carolinian we had the misfortune of meeting who damn near ran us down because he must have thought motorcycles have NO right to use public highways or was just tired of us invading his state .hmmmm I think he forgot what an event like that generates to the SC economy. Stop S2358 a new bill that redefines street gangs in such a manner to include anyone of us. This is an extremely broad based bill that the Feds could use in many ways to their advantage. Patriot Act, MATRIX, S2358 all more ways to keep the little sheep under control. Folks you better stay on top of this stuff before its too late. |
