| My story? Man thats open ended but Ill try and fill in some blanks. Me
I am a pure redneck hillbilly Libertarian with a slight conservative leaning. How does some one get so damned involved in politics many ask? Well for me it was Vietnam, dont know what exactly triggered it I was only 9 or 10 when this fascination developed. I vaguely remember a pic on the front page of the newspaper that captured my attention and the rest is history. Being involved before the emergence of the net was more difficult, fewer points of view on the news and fewer ways to look for more. You couldnt get info or get it out like you can today. Getting into the net helped me to expand my knowledge and opinions, I am able to get much more involved. Why Libertarian? I believe people should control their own destiny and the government shouldnt. It makes people think and makes them smarter if they have to survive for their self. If they cant then the gene pool will weed its self out and the problem is solved. Our Founding Fathers had been down the road of oppression and when the Constitution was written they weighed very heavily into limited government and keeping the beast under control. Madison (the primary author of the Constitution) stated the Constitution doesnt GIVE you rights you are born with them, they sought to limit the governments ability to TAKE any of them from you. Father to a very gifted son, Great Dane. Hes 16 years old and driving now. Im lucky in this day and age to have a good kid. Hes still deciding on his lifes work either a career as a lawyer or something in Computer Security. An A student who takes AP classes and keeps a heavy schedule. A Blackbelt in Shotokan Karate who goes to the gym and keeps his body in tune with his mind. Other than that hes pretty much a typical teenager who is my best friend and doesnt give me any problems. A Parts Manager for the Delaney Automotive Group. I started out as a parts guy in a bike shop that I hung around when I was a kid, as soon as I could legally work they put me to work that was May 1977. We ended up with 2 bike and 2 car franchises and had a hell of a lot of fun. In the years that have gone by, Ive worked in a parts store, sold parts in a junk yard and by 1988 went back to the dealerships ..full circle. I manage the wholesale division for the company calling on garages and body shops. Being a legitimate Parts Manager adds credibility, Ive managed a parts department before been in the trenches and know what our customers and co-workers are up against. I also Quarterback our parts departments, kind of a Universal Soldier doing a lot of different things through out the company and its sure never boring. Hey whatever it takes we have a hell of a crew and get the job done!! Well theres the short story and you never know what lies ahead other than I will do my damndest to leave this Country better than I found her. |
